Family Facts: Butch is thankfully married to Michele (read "an amazing woman") and they have four children, Chelsea, Garrett, Conner and Jalie.
Interests: Reading, playing with his kids, fishing, studying around the various coffee shops in town, politics, watching movies with Michele.
Ministry Philosophy: Basically, Butch most greatly desires to see the supernatural grace of God impacting and changing the lives of all people. The Bible is his final authority for faith and practice, thus he sees the membership of the body of Christ, locally and universally as part of his actual family. Here at Living Hope he prayerfully leads like a dad leads his home. He has a passion to see souls saved and lives changed by the power of God and for the glory of God. He does not justify sin or doesn't give up as he leads the church to trust God to move mountains in impossible situations. Paul's heart in Acts 20, as he prepares to leave Ephesus, shows the seriousness and compassion that drives Butch to faithfully serve as God's representative. Acts 20:28 summarizes his motivation and task, "Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood." (NIV) His preaching is meant to be simple, straight-forward, thoroughly Biblical and completely relevant for applicable life-change. |
